Synopsis: In April 1895 Oscar wilde brought a libel suit against the Marquess of Queensberry, the father of his youthful lover.  In doing so, England’s reigning man of letters set in motion a series of events that would culminate in his own trial for acts of “gross indecency”, his ruin and his imprisonment.  Not only was his life on trial, but also – implicitly – his vision of art that outraged Victorian propriety.

In this smash Off-Broadway hit, Moises Kaufman turns the trials into a riveting human drama, expertly interweaving courtroom testimony with excerpts from Wilde’s writings and the words of his contemporaries.

Marquess of Queensberry/Ensemble

FOR {TNE LAB}

The Lab Project: ["Flawed", an original play by Haley White]:  Casting call for  young men (18-25) who can sing, play the guitar and men and women of varying ages for LGBT themed material.  {tne lab} is developing an original play with member Haley White as writer/director/producer.  The piece explores themes of finding and staying true to one’s identity.

The process will involve several informal private and public readings of the piece, giving and crafting feedback for the playwright and, potentially, a fully staged reading of the piece.  This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in the development process and have input in a new creative work!

Scenes and Monologues from Flawed

If interested, contact Haley White at haleymariewhite@hotmail.com or come by the Open Auditions on February 2nd.  Haley will speak with you about your interest, have you read a scene, and go from there!

This can be either:

2 monologues OR 1 monologue and 1 scene (with one other scene partner).

All videos should state clearly the name of the auditionee BY the auditionee, and should state the title and author of the pieces performed.

Please keep your video to under 5 minutes.

Upload your video to the host of your choice (YouTube/Vimeo/etc) and email a link to the video and  your theatrical resume and contact info to: heather@newensemble.com.
